What are our guests saying about us….?

Chapeau Chameleon Bike Adventures! Just enjoyed the best 10 days cycling & exploring the Pyrenees, with the added bonus of a few TdF stages thrown in. Allez! Allez! Allez! Tara & Dan are equal parts fantastic hosts, great cycling coaches & just all-round fun company. Starting from a base of just a casual once or twice a week bunch-ride, with your encouragement I’ve now conquered the Col du Tourmalet, Hautacam & heaps more. Strava boasting at its very best. And a final shout out to my “roomie” Eric, who made the trip even more fun.

Thanks for a great time.  I had pretty much a perfect time with you for the five days, and it has left me with a lot more confidence in myself and my abilities as a rider as well as a strong desire to do it again when time & money permit !
You were both very accomodating and thoughtful and I really appreciate the work that went into my Friday ride and the further work that went into changing this when the grand depart timings went against me to make sure I spent as much time as possible riding and tour watching.
I think you guys have a great thing going with your set up, approach and experience that I can’t imagine other boutique operators would find easy to match.

“You guys rock! I had the pleasure to join the 9 day TDF Alpes Tour in July 2016. A tour that included climbing Col du Galibier, Col de la Colombiere and Col de Madeleine as a few highlights. Basically, two Cat 1/HC climbs every day averaging 100 – 125km. The routes where planned to perfection and matched well with our group. Just enough to put us in the hurt box each day, but then arriving back at the hotel feeling you had accomplished something special.

Dan and Tara from Chameleon Bike looked after us in the best possible way. Always with a smile and positive encouragement (sometime very much needed…). It all felt very much personal. Loved the nice dinners with the group after each ride with all the bantering.

I came back with some incredible memories, and now I want more. Hope to see you guys for another adventure in 2018. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Chameleon Bike Adventure to anyone who loves their bike.

Thankyou Dan and Tara for your outstanding professionalism in delivering to me the trip of a lifetime. I’m still trying to get my head around the amazing experience I’ve just been through with you guys and the rest of your satisfied clients. If anyone is thinking about doing a euro cycling trip. Do it with Chameleon. You won’t regret it.

I went on the Tour de France Alpes trip with Chameleon Bike Adventures in July 2015 and had a great time!  I do a reasonable amount of road cycling, sportives and the like, but I’d never cycled in the Alps before.  This was going to be a whole new experience!!.  As well as the epic climbs themselves, for me the heat and altitude were additional challenges, as we’ve nothing like this back home where I come from.  It took me a while to settle into the rhythm of cycling in the Alps, but the Chameleon Bike Adventures team were very supportive and accommodating.  On one of my first days, it was really hot, and they had the support vehicle waiting ahead up the climb at a couple of points to give me a bit of a breather and a cool drink.  The support van had an available stock of food, and my favourite was the peanut M&Ms!! – just the job for those comfort calorie cravings!

Needless to say the scenery on the tours was amazingly spectacular.  The team picked out some fantastic rides for the group, taking in some of the iconic climbs you hear so much about from the Tour de France.  I ended up doing Alpe d’Huez on a couple of occasions, and one of these was on the morning of the Tour stage which finished at the top of the climb.  The mountain was already packed with cyclists and supporters and the atmosphere was electric.  So many people were dressed up in costumes and generally acting silly, so it was mighty craic as we’d say in Ireland.  I really enjoyed the experience.  When you’re young and watching your sporting heroes on the TV, you can’t wait to go outside and try a bit of it yourself with a few mates – well doing a trip with Chameleon is a bit like that! – spend a while on the bike getting up the mountain to watch one of the Tour stages, watch your cycling heroes whizz by, and then jump back on the bike to whizz past the queuing cars trying to get home!!!

The Chameleon Bike Adventures team organised all the logistical stuff from airport transfers to food and accommodation.  The food and accommodation themselves were really nice and added to the whole cycling adventure.  I would definitely recommend someone to go on one of their tours.
